The Thanksgiving Grocery List is one part of 6 printable guides I have to help you plan for Thanksgiving. This grocery list was the first template I made for myself about 10 years ago when I was looking to make Thanksgiving easily repeatable each year. My families Thanksgiving dinner is almost identical each year. It was changed over the years slightly and there are always some tweaks but from year to year it doesn’t change much. The Thanksgiving grocery list is kind of major list, pretty decent size compared to at least my normal grocery list. It takes time to go through each recipe and right everything down and include the quantities. Then it is kind of long haphazard list, with sweet potatoes next to the marshmallows which usually aren’t in the same section of the grocery store.
Fill-in Editable PDF Grocery List
To make the Thanksgiving grocery list making simpler, I created a template with sections for the different areas in the grocery store. It is two pages, so there is plenty of room in each section, in case one section is a little fuller than another. It also includes a box to check-off and place to put quantities. The best part you take the time this year to fill-it-in and next year all you need to do it possible tweak it for any changes you are making. So simple right!!!!
You also have the option to type in your grocery list on a desktop (this option doesn’t seem to work on a mobile device) and print it out. Or you can print out a blank list and hand write it. I prefer the type-in method because it is easier to change every year and doesn’t need to be rewritten, that is why I specifically made this as well as all of the Thanksgiving guides into PDF forms that can be easily filled-in, saved and edited later.
The other thing I added to make this simple, was I added a recipe box at the top. This a place where you can list the recipes you have included on the grocery list. It may seem like a waste of time to fill-in this year, but next year you will know exactly what ingredients for what recipes are included on the list. For example, butter I have 17 sticks of butter on my grocery list, yikes! But I have rolls, mashed potatoes, pumpkin cookies, stuffing and monkey bread that all require butter so I know why I need so much butter.
You also may wonder I’m so specific how much butter I need, since butter usually comes in a box with 4 sticks, so I actually have to buy 5 boxes or 20 sticks of butter. Well after I check out my list each year, I go to my kitchen and check to see what I already have. If I have one stick of butter already, great I only need to buy 4 boxes. This may seem like a little thing when a box of butter is around $1 but it saves money and it saves space. I don’t know about you but I need every inch of my fridge for Thanksgiving.
I really put a lot of of thought into making this Thanksgiving list the best it can be.
